Greg Rusedski reflects on Andy Murray's first ATP win since January

Former British tennis star Greg Rusedski was thrilled to see fellow compatriot Andy Murray clinch his first tour singles win at the ATP level post-hip surgery at the Zhuhai Championships. 

Murray, a three-time Grand Slam, failed to convert a match point in the second set but kept his focus to overcame 69th-ranked Tennys Sandgren in three sets 6-3 6-7 (6) 6-1 in two hours and 41 minutes of action. 

Murray managing to endure such an exhausting match and finding a way to end on the winning side was a positive sign as Rusedski is now looking forward to seeing how will the former world No. 1 recover for a tough round-of-16 test against rising Australian star Alex de Minaur. 

"Andy Murray exceeding expectations as usual. Well done for his first ATP Tour win since hip surgery. Bounce back will be interesting for his next match versus Alex de Minaur, which is a step up in class. Going to be very interesting to watch. Can’t wait," Rusedski wrote on Twitter. 

Murray, 32, and 20-year-old de Minaur will be clashing against each other for the first time in their respective careers when they meet on the indoor-hard courts of Zhuhai.
