Roger Federer US Open loss shows anything can happen - Rafael Nadal's coach

In an interview to Radio Marca Rafael Nadal's coach Francis Roig commented on the upcoming match between the Spaniard and Diego Schwartzman. Roig said: "It's a difficult match. He is very ready, he pushes you to the limit, he was always doing well, but he is a player who defends, attacks, his weakness may be the serve but he is a player who is difficult to find holes with. He knows very well how he plays, he enjoys a lot with it, he has a brutal intensity. He is delivering his best tennis and we expect a very hard match."

On Roger Federer's loss to Grigor Dimitrov, Roig added: "We know that anything can happen. Dimitrov defeated Federer, he he a player who has an enormous potential despite not having a good year, everything is possible. In the end in the world of tennis everything happens and you saw it with Federer."

On Nadal's status, Roig added: "He is okay, better than the last year when he was dealing with knee. If he can deliver a good level against Schwartzman like he did in Indian Wells, he can do well. We have not seen the best Nadal yet at the US Open, there is margin for improvements."

Asked what was the lowest point he has reached during his difficult time, Dimitrov commented: "It was that low that I don't even want to go there any more. It was just obviously injury, losing points, ranking. That's the lowest point of any player", concluded the Haskovo native.
