After tight 2018 loss to Roger Federer, Medvedev aims to go far in Shanghai

Daniil Medvedev flew from his native city, Moscow, to Shanghai to play the Rolex Shanghai Masters that takes place in the next eight days. The world No. 4 is coming from a stunning North American hard-court season and he also won the St. Petersburg Open. "I am tired but it feels great to be in Shanghai, so I love the city and the tournament and hopefully it's gonna be a great week", said Medvedev after the many hours of flight.
Last year in Shanghai he lost to Roger Federer in a close three-set second round match. He aims to go far this time. "It has been a great season but every tournament is new so that's why I came early to get used to the jet lag and the conditions and hopefully it's gonna be good", concluded the 23-year-old Monte Carlo resident who lost a five-set US Open final to Rafael Nadal.
The Davis Cup Tournament Director Albert Costa gave advices to younger players: "The first thing is that you have to enjoy what you are doing, be positive and happy with the life you are doing. And then trying your best and try to achieve as much as you can. Not everybody can be professional tennis players but you have to enjoy the process and what you are doing. That's my advice not only for tennis but for the life."
