Alex de Minaur: I take everything match-by-match, day-by-day

Rising Australian star Alex de Minaur didn't hide his happiness after earning a big win over No. 9 seed Roberto Bautista Agut to make the Paris Masters round-of-16.

De Minaur, ranked at No. 18 in the world, edged out the Spaniard in two tight sets 7-6 (2) 7-6 (1) to set up a meeting against seventh-seeded Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas. 

A groin injury negatively affected the Australian's game in the first part of the season but the 20-year-old has bounced back from the injury and rediscovered his best form in the second part of the year. 

"I'm very happy with today's result,” de Minaur exclusively told the ATP website. “It's been a difficult last few months for me, and not just physically. Mentally as well; things have been very complicated."

De Minaur will be making back-to-back appearances at the Next Gen ATP Finals when he steps on the court in Milan next week but insists at the moment he is completely focused on his Paris campaign. 

"I'm not focused on anything except today's victory," de Minaur claimed. “I take everything match-by-match, day-by-day."
