ATP Paris - Thursday Schedule: Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic seek QFs
Rafael Nadal will face Stan Wawrinka for the 21th time in his career. The Spanish player last beat the Swiss in Madrid earlier this year. Wawrinka prevailed over Nadal in 2015 Paris quarters.
After his win over Adrian Mannarino on Wednesday, Nadal said: "Good feelings, honestly, no? I have been able to do some good work at home, to work on things that we believe could help in this surfaces. And today, the serve, for example, was one of these things. So very happy the way that I served. I think I didn't face no one break point during the whole match, and against player who returns well. So that means a lot. Feelings are good. To be back in this court is always special. This city, of course, always special for me. So crowd is great with me here. So excited to have the chance to play another day here."
Novak Djokovic did not deliver his best tennis against Corentin Moutet and he will try to play better when he will go on court to face the Brit Kyle Edmund, who only defeated the 16-time Grand Slam winner in 2018 Madrid when Djokovic was coming back from an elbow surgery. Gael Monfils is leading French hopes, he will try to reach quarter-finals beating Radu Albot who is having a good season. After upsetting Daniil Medvedev, Jeremy Chardy will face Christian Garin.
