Caroline Wozniacki joins Serena Williams and Bianca Andreescu to play in...

Caroline Wozniacki is not planning to retire from the professional tour anytime soon. Her brother Patrick confirmed that the former world No. 1 will travel to Auckland on January 2 to start the new season at the ASB Classic in New Zealand before the Australian Open where she triumphed in 2018 conquering her maiden Grand Slam title. Auckland event will take place from 6 to 12 January while the Australian Open starts on 20. "I do not know how many tournaments she plans to compete in and I think she is yet to start thinking about it but those two events are confirmed. It's nice that she has the desire to play in 2020. But I also know that she will soon want to leave tennis. She can pick the tournaments she wants to play in."

In 2019 Wozniacki only reached one final in Charleston. She ended her season losing to Naomi Osaka in the Beijing's China Open final earlier this month. Wozniacki will join Serena Williams and Bianca Andreescu in Auckland field.

Analyzing her good performances in Beijing, Caroline said: "it's a very big tournament. Prize money-wise it's the biggest tournament outside of the slams. I think a lot of players want to do their best here. A lot of people are fighting for the year-end championships. Some of us are just trying to win the tournament, do as well as I can. Obviously it means a lot to me because this was the place I became No. 1 for the first time, about 10 years ago. It's a place where I've had a lot of great matches. It's a place where I feel like I can play very well."
