Novak Djokovic speaks on his Tokyo campaign, John Millman

World No. 1 Novak Djokovic says he is happy with the way he has been performing throughout the whole week at the Japan Open as he hopes to make a splash in his Tokyo debut.

Djokovic, 32, saw off 2017 Nitto ATP Finals runner-up David Goffin 6-3 6-3 to remain perfect in Tokyo and clinch his fourth straight-set win this week.

The top-seeded Serb entered the Japan Open hoping it would help him in his preparation for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

"I’m very satisfied with the way I’ve been playing the whole week," Djokovic said post-match, per the ATP website. "It’s been a very positive week on the court, off the week as well. Hopefully, I’ll be able to crown it tomorrow with a trophy."

Next up for Djokovic will be Australian qualifier John Millman, who beat rising American star Reilly Opelka to progress into his maiden ATP final.

Djokovic leads the head-to-head against Millman 2-0 but insists he won't be taking the Australian for granted when they meet in the Tokyo final.

"He’s a very solid player," Djokovic said of Millman. "I saw today that he had a very good, solid win against Opelka, who was in form and is never easy to play against because he has such a big serve. And Millman is someone that is fighting hard, he’s a real fighter on the court. He never gives up. He has a positive attitude, he runs for every ball and he makes you play. So it’s going to be again a baseline battle and I’m hoping I can serve as well as I did throughout the week because that’s something that is going to be needed."
