Farah e Cabal react to receiving year-end doubles No. 1 trophy

Colombian doubles specialist Robert Farah said him and Juan Sebastian Cabal ending the year at No. 1 spot was a dream come true. 

Farah, 32, and 33-year-old Cabal were presented with the year-end doubles No. 1 trophy at The O2 Arena on Thursday. 

The Colombians, who won back-to-back Grand Slam titles at Wimbledon and US Open, captured five titles in seven finals played this year.

"It’s an honour to receive this trophy, being alongside the names engraved on it,” Farah said during the presentation, per the ATP website. “Starting the year, it was difficult to predict we’d end it as the No. 1 team. It’s a dream come true and I’d like to thank everyone who is here for supporting us."

After years of hard work, it all paid off for Farah and Cabal this year. 

"It’s crazy to pick a [standout] moment from the year,” Cabal said. “Coming through the five-hour match we had at Wimbledon, for our first Grand Slam title, is a moment we’ll remember forever."
