Nobody dislikes Roger Federer, says Spanish junior

In an interview to Punto de Break the promising Spanish player Nicolas Alvarez commented on his childhood idols. "There is no person who dislikes Roger Federer for his gamestyle, elegance and easiness in playing the sport but me, as a Spaniard, Rafa Nadal is a bigger reference because without having the same qualities as Federer, he is pretty close to what he achieved and who knows if he will even overcome him in the future."

In the junior Grand Slams Alvarez trained with the professional players. Who was he surprised the most by? "I recently practiced with Roberto Bautista Agut. We have been training a lot in Burgos and Valencia and we are closer to him. I met him in Australia this year. We trained there and also in Castellon, his native place. Here I trained with him too on the Suzanne Lenglen. Both he and his coach always treated us very well."

What suggestions did he receive? "In Australia, when I trained with him, it was to warm up, the following day he beat Marin Cilic in five sets and then the following day I warmed up with him before his match against Stefanos Tsitsipas. Here the same. It was a warm up before his match against Fabio Fognini. More than suggestions, what I see is how he prepares prior to matches. I know his history and I know he is a guy who struggled a lot to get there and I know what he went through. He is a good example for us because Robert is someone who had to work a lot to achieve what he achieved."
