Roger Federer Runs on New York Streets for On Shoes Commerical
Tennis - Swiss tennis maestro Roger Federer earlier announced that he was investing in the Swiss running shoe brand "On" shoes and now, the Swiss manufacturer has made an advertisement for the same featuring the 20-time Grand Slam champion.
"On" shoes creates sneakers currently and Federer refused to comment on whether the company would be also creating tennis shoes. In the commerical, Federer can be seen running in the streets of New York on a November morning.
According to 20min, the video sees Federer photograph some passers-by, buy a pretzel and become cameraman on the American television show "Today" before running with "On" partners and running club members from New York. The commerical shows an ordinary day in the life of Federer. "It all happened spontaneously as we accompanied Roger from one show to the next in the morning. Only the filming of the video clip in Central Park was approved."
Federer always smiled and took his time for the fans as he waved to the New Yorkers during the filming. Federer seemed in a good mood and relaxed as he completed the shoot even though he had just arrived in New York a few hours earlier.
Federer ended the season as World No. 3 in the rankings behind Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. He plans to be back on the courts next year and said he is looking forward to playing at the Tokyo Olympics next season. Federer has said his investment in the company does not mean that he would be retiring any time soon as he has plans to play all the four Slams and the Tokyo Olympics next season.
