Jelena Dokic believes Serena Williams will get to 24 Grand Slams
Former World No. 4 Jelena Dokic says she believes Serena Williams will win another Grand Slam when the tennis circuit resumes.
Dokic was speaking in an interview to Nine's The Greatest and says she believed that the 23 time major champion Serena was very keen to win another Slam that would tie her with Margaret Court for the most number of Grand Slam titles in history and thought the American will be able to achieve her goal.
Dokic retired from tennis in 2014 due to a back injury but has remained involved in the sport with commentating in recent years and played the legends doubles event at the Australian Open this year.
She also said she was open to playing some doubles or legends events in the domestic competitions that may happen in Australia in the coming months.
The 37 year old says, "I always say, 'never say never to things'. Yeah maybe, I played the legends match this year at the Australian Open for the first time since I retired.
"I would love to, even if it was just some doubles or legends matches, I would love to get a chance to be back on court again.
Dokic was one of the teen prodigies in tennis and at the age of 16, she caused one of the biggest upsets in Wimbledon history by beating world No.1 Martina Hingis at the 1999 Championships.
She rose to No. 4 but her career was affected by several injuries as well as trouble in her personal life with her father.
"The times that we're in with tennis, we might not see international travel or tennis. So, it would be great to have some domestic tennis and have some domestic competitions.
"If there's an opportunity for me to play some legends and maybe some doubles, why not."
