Simona Halep is supervised by Cahill directly from Australia with top technology

As Simona Halep is thousands of miles apart from her coach, Darren Cahill, and the training sessions can’t be done live so easily given the pandemic, the two found a way to make the world smaller by using video technology.

Therefore, Cahill sent a package containing a live video system in Romania, to Simona Halep. “Can’t wait to put the new PlaySight GO system to use. We are sending a GO system to Simona Halep in Romania so I can watch practice sessions live and help coach with Arti. Connecting sport through technology to make the world smaller and better” Cahill tweeted.

In a CNN interview, Halep admitted that she hasn’t played tennis at all since the coronavirus pandemic took over the world. However, she still keeps in touch with her coaches.

"I am in contact with my fitness trainer all the time and obviously my coaches Darren [Cahill] and Arti [Apostu-Efremov], too. I have not hit any balls yet but hopefully that will come soon when the situation becomes clearer and the restrictions begin to lift,” Halep told CNN.

The Romanian champion affirmed that she does everything to stay in shape during these times.

“It’s very hard to come back if I lose my physical shape, so I take care and respect my schedule 100%. I did abs on the carpet until my back started to hurt. I didn’t even have a mattress. Now I ordered one!” said Halep as quoted by Digi Sport.
