Caroline Wozniacki is dealing with illness very well, says brother
In an interview to Ekstra Bladet the Caroline Wozniacki's Brother Patrik gave some important updates on the Danish player's health condition. In October following the WTA Finals in Singapore the world No. 3 revealed she has been diagnosed th a rheumatoid arthritis. Wozniacki trained in Miami during the off-season and she also hit with Serena Williams.
'It's very well, she is fit and she is not doing bad', said Patrick, who is one of the two Wozniacki's hitting partners. 'She works really well, and she even seems more prepared previous to the last years, I think. There is no issue during the practice. She doesn't always say it when she is injured, but she seems to be doing well. She clearly needs to get some breaks in training, but she has not asked any free day so it's really good. She keeps running. It seems she is getting the right medicine.'
In press conference at the WTA Finals, Wozniacki said: 'It's obviously something that you need to know and you need to get sorted. Once you get it sorted, thankfully I know my body so well, so I knew there was something not right. A lot of people wait, and they feel a little better and then they feel worse. They think just maybe they're tired or maybe something is just hurting. But I caught it somewhat early, so that's great. You know, some people can go into remission and some people, it just stops the disease and it's just right there and it's not going to get worse, or if it does, it's slowly. The medicine now is so amazing, so I'm not worried about it. So that's great. You just have to be aware. That's all.'
