Wilander says Serena Williams should learn from family man Roger Federer

Serena Williams' life definitely changed in the last year and a half, having become a mother and a wife respectively of daughter Olympia and Alexis Ohanian. The seven-time Grand Slam winner Mats Wilander believes that Serena's approach in the Grand Slams is different. 'There is pressure there because she is not just playing for herself', Wilander said. 'She has a husband, a daughter. I am not saying it's harder but it's different. It's gonna take some time to get used to it. Roger Federer managed to get used to it but only after a while. And Serena is not running out of time but she's better to get used to.'

On Kei Nishikori's opening round win over, Wilander added: 'It's five sets. You get matches that you win when your opponent is injured or is too tired and you run him into the ground. I think he spent too much time out there and being two sets to love down was scary for him.'

Wilander finally spoke about Simona Halep's improvements margins. 'She is world No. 1, she has won a Grand Slam and I love that she says "I am not gonna play tennis and see how I gonna become". It's a long-term goal and I feel like Simona Halep is a good player, great fighter, but there is a lot of things she can still improve, that will be encouraging for her and for the new coaching team', concluded the Swede.
