Former champion Andy Roddick returns to Atlanta on July 22 against..

The tenth edition of the BB&T Atlanta Open will take place between July 22-28, with John Isner as the top favorite to win the sixth crown in the last seven years. Young guns Frances Tiafoe, Taylor Fritz and Reilly Opelka have also confirmed their participation and it should be a thrilling event from the very first round. The tournament moved from Indianapolis to Atlanta in 2010 and it has been a fertile ground for the home stars so far, with the Americans occupying 13 out of 18 spots in the finals and looking good to forge an all-American title match on July 28 again. 

Fans at Atlantic Station will have the opportunity to see the 2012 Atlanta Open champion in action, with Andy Roddick competing at Monday night exhibition match on July 22 against Robby Ginepri. Recognized as the greatest American player after the generation of Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi, Andy had won 32 ATP titles from 52 finals and the first came right here in Atlanta back in 2001 on Har-Tru clay. A former world no. 1 and the US Open champion from 16 years ago is the three-time beaten Wimbledon finalist and one of the best players on hard and grass in the last two decades, conquering the final ATP title here in Atlanta in the summer of 2012 before retiring a month and a half later at the US Open. 

Now, Andy will return to Atlanta for that Robby Ginepri clash, facing his friend and coeval in the relaxed atmosphere after ten official matches on the Tour between 2002-09. Roddick won nine of those encounters although they had some tight battles like in Indianapolis, Memphis, Houston and Lyon. Robby is a former world no. 15 and the US Open semi-finalist from 2005, retiring in Washington four years ago.
