Rafael Nadal: French Open is the best place in my career
In an interview with France Info, Rafael Nadal spoke about how it felt to come back to the French Open. The Spaniard said: "Playing this tournament is a real dream. In Paris I had amazing moments, it's a bit like feeling at home. That's the best place in my career, my most important tournaments. Describing and explaining all that I lived here is difficult. I come here with a lot of excitement every time. I know the people, I see them again."
On a Frenchman who last won a Grand Slam in 1983 with Yannick Noah, Nadal concluded: "One day, a Frenchman will be able to win. The French Federation has been working a lot for many years. They have the weapons to help the younger guys. Of course, a big French champion will come up and win the French Open."
"I am a positive and calm person. Id the opposite to when I am on a tennis court. I like the competition. I like to give 100 per cent. Then I accept losses but also wins, always being calm. This is how I see sports: going to court and giving everything I have. Everything can happen, that's part of the game."
Asked if he still has dreams and hopes, Nadal replied: "My dream is my everyday life. Instead of what you may think, for me, it's something new every year. I always stood out in the sport, I had very good years, very good successes, I was lucky and I work every day to live this dream."
