'Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic only play where and when they want' - Muster
In an interview to Krone he three-time French Open winner Thomas Muster was asked if he will become Austria's team captain at the ATP Cup next year. The Austrian replied: "There always discussions ongoing, but it's not solved yet. The draw is not easy, you have to beat big players."
Asked to reassess Thiem's chances to win the title, Muster said: "It's like last year. He is the first seed so he is also the favorite. He can definitely beat any player on any court. Dominic can play anywhere and on all the surfaces. And the court conditions are good for him."
On how the tournament developed, Muster said: "It was very important to settle it. We managed to achieve it. Even more fans are coming to the stadium. You book tickets even earlier. Everything is really great for the tennis fans. It also became a popular place of meetings for businessmen. As for the players field, it's the best one. They share stars with Basel. Of course Federer plays there and Nadal and Djokovic play only where and when they want. It's once again a top class field."
Meanwhile Roger Federer spoke about his physical shape: "It's true that I am much less tired than I was in the past in the same time. In 2018 my back was a bit blocked and I felt very tired already in Shanghai where I had no tank left against Borna Coric. This year feelings are better, I felt it in a practice session with Stefanos Tsitsipas and during the warm up on Monday. But my shape doesn't guarantee anything. I hope to get a big result before the year ends."
