Courier: 'Will Roger Federer hold this level after win vs Novak Djokovic?'

Former Roger Federer's coach Paul Annacone praised the Swiss player's performance during his straight-set win over Novak Djokovic at the ATP Finals in London. The American, talking on The Tennis Channel, said: "He was spot-on. I don't believe in perfect but that was as close as you can get. I saw Roger one-year play match similar to that against Rafa Nadal in the same building and didn't think you could play any better but after watching today, against someone that makes the court that small for you to hit, to be able to sustain that for two sets is amazing."

The fact that he used all the tricks in his bag - the slice backhand half the time, the drive backhand and he was taking that largely on the rise - half volleys and just confronting the bounce taking on risk and only making five unforced errors against the great defense of Novak, with 23 winners. It's hard to imagine Federer could play better than that. Now you hope that he will hold that level now because that's also a bit of concern in a way like is there a dip coming after that apex. It's a good problem to have", concluded Courier.
