Roger Federer on his season, staying injury-free and rising stars
Swiss tennis superstar Roger Federer is satisfied with the way his 2019 season has been going so far as he hopes to have a good campaign at The O2 Arena and hopefully end the year with his seventh Nitto ATP Finals crown.
Federer, who has made a total of six finals this year, captured titles at the Miami Masters, Dubai, Halle and Basel, while he fell just short of winning it all at the Indian Wells Masters and Wimbledon.
“I’ve had a very good solid season again. Staying injury free has helped me. When I’ve been healthy I’ve always been here," Federer said in London, per George Bellshaw of Metro UK.
Rising stars Daniil Medvedev, Dominic Thiem, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev and Matteo Berrettini will be extremely eager and motivated to showcase their talent at the prestigious season-ending event.
"The younger guys will learn a lot being part of such a great event," Federer said.
Federer hasn't made a splash at Nitto ATP Finals since 2011 but he has made three finals and three semifinals since then.
