Severin Luthi: Roger Federer is fresh and he has practiced well in London

Coach Severin Luthi was extremely satisfied with world No. 3 Roger Federer's condition coming into the Nitto ATP Finals. 

After winning a record 10th Basel title two weeks ago, 38-year-old Federer pulled out of the Paris Masters. 

As a result of playing only the Laver Cup, Shanghai Masters and Basel after the US Open, the Swiss is set to open his 17th campaign at the ATP Finals fully prepared for the season-ending event.

"Roger arrived here fresh and practiced well, it‘s maybe a bit different to previous years, where I had the feeling he might be a bit tired and played too much in advance, but of course, nothing is won yet, even with this good pre-condition," Luthi told SRF Sport. 

Federer, a former world No. 1, has had lots of success throughout his career at the ATP Finals, having reached 10 finals at the event. 

The Swiss has captured six titles at the ATP Finals but he hasn't won it all at the prestigious season-ending event since 2011. 

The 38-year-old lost his last three finals at The O2 Arena, having ended runner-up at the event in 2012, 2014 and 2015.
