Francesco Laporta: "I could close under 60"

In Tenerife a show starts for the Italian Francesco Laporta who, with a partial closed in 62 (-9), signs his lowest career lap on the European Tour and flies to the top of the Canary Islands Championship. After 18 holes you play the 30 year old from Castellana Grotte (Bari), who has made 8 birdies and an eagle, tripping over a bogey, has only one shot ahead of Spaniard Scott Fernandez, second with 63 (-8).

Francesco Laporta, statements

"It was one of those days when everything goes the right way, at a certain point I even thought I could close under 60 strokes but I wasn't lucky in the last holes. Anyway I'm pretty happy for this start of the race" . These are the declarations of Laporta at the end of the opening round in the Canaries where the third consecutive round of the maximum continental circuit is staged, the second on the Golf Costa Adeje course (par 71).

A convincing start also for two other Iberian players, Adri Arnaus - among the favorites on the eve - and Alfredo Garcia-Heredia, both 3 / i (64, -7) alongside the Frenchman Joel Stalter. After Laporta, the best among the Azzurri is Nino Bertasio from Brescia, 38 / o with 68 (-3). While the Turin Edoardo Molinari is 74 / o (70, -1), with Andrea Pavan 93 / o (71, par) and protagonist of a two-faced test. First eight holes to forget for the Capitoline, with a triple bogey, a bogey and a double bogey. At nine the turn with the first of four birdies, in the middle also an eagle. On the other hand, Renato Paratore and Guido Migliozzi from Vicenza, paired up in 114 / o place (73, +2), disappoint. And now the second (of four) rounds. In Tenerife Italgolf is chasing their first victory of the season on the European Tour 2021 and dreams with Laporta.

In Italy it is possible again to organize and play golf competitions in the yellow zone. The good news was communicated in time by the Federgolf.

After the one relating to the abolition of the examination of the rules, the Federation issues another circular (number 16), less surprising than the previous one but very much awaited.

Starting from April 26, 2021 it is allowed, exclusively for the territories located in the yellow zone, to carry out any sporting golf activity outdoors, in compliance with the guidelines adopted by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers - Department for Sport.

After careful analysis of the current legislation and unless otherwise and any guidance should be provided by the Department of Sport of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, any golf sporting activity, events, demonstrations and competitions (including social and pro -am) if carried out outdoors and in compliance with the Federal Protocol.

With reference to the performance of the amateur sports activity referred to there, the use of changing rooms is prohibited unless otherwise established by the guidelines referred to in the first sentence.

For the territories located in the orange and red areas, the prescriptions made with previous legislative measures remain valid and effective.

A great step forward after months of lockouts or general play. Once again it's up to us now to respect the rules (not just those of golf) so that golf never stops.
