There is needle between Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, says pundit
The tennis presenter Annabel Croft is looking forward to the Thursday match between Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer at the ATP Finals in London. The Brit said: "There is needle between them. There is a lot of intensity in that rivalry. I asked in an interview if they liked each other and there was a hesitant of silence before Novak picked up on it and he was very diplomatic in his answer. You just know bubbling under the surface there is an intensity to that rivalry. I think we are going to get a few spicy moments. I think if we can get anything close to what we got in that Wimbledon final it will be extraordinary. I have learnt over the years never to write Roger Federer off. Over the years I have seen him play not such great tennis at times and in the same tournament come out and play and produce a completely different level. Watch this space it is going to be a fantastic contest."
Croft praised Daniil Medvedev: "He has been phenomenal. He is such a beautiful ball striker. He is such an unusual tennis player the way he hits the ball. A lot of players that come off court having played him say he isn't doing anything in particular but it is really difficult to attack off the balk that he hits. You have got two players who have lost their first matches coming in and that changes everything."
After Federer and Djokovic, Dominic Thiem will try to beat Matteo Berrettini on Thursday too. The Austrian said: "I will give my best on Thursday because 200 points are at stake."
